And so this stage of my journey begins. I guess it’s really just the next chapter in the quest for self discovery we call life.
Though I didn’t realize it at the time, growing up in an Italian household (where life truly does revolve around the next meal) turned me into somewhat of a foodie. And a foodie with a healthy appetite, at that! When I began my university years, I entered a new world and began the attempt to shed those excess pasta-induced pounds. Inevitably, that led me to another world: the universe that revolves around fitness and, later, running. My mother believed my fitness frenzy was a fad but really it became my lifestyle. It didn’t take long for me to get hooked and soon my 30 minute jogs turned into 3 hour training runs.
In typical nature, I needed to know more so I began to read and read and read about training, nutrition and how it all fits together. Which brings me to today.
As I continued to explore, I increasingly saw the connectedness of my 2 passions…food and running. Or should I say fuel and performance? My path pointed me straight back to school, where I dove whole-heartedly into the study of holistic nutrition. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. And learned how much more is out there to learn.
